Hope Town

We left Green Turtle Cay today and transited the Don't Rock passage to get to Hope Town.

Here's the rock:

The water does get skinny (shallow) there.  But it was a much faster and relatively smooth option to the other passage option; which is called "The Whale" and involves time in the Atlantic.

Here are some Hope Town Pictures:

Green Turtle Cay

I have been remiss in keeping this blog updated this trip.  Between still running my business remotely and trying to have fun, there just hasn't been time.  While we wait for some rain showers to pass, here's some Green Turtle Cay pictures:

Thursday night at the arts & crafts fair at Sailfish Marina in West Palm Beach.  This is one of our favorite stops in Florida.  The marina is nice.  The craft fair is always entertaining.  The water is clear.  And best of all, this is a great place for us to depart on Saturday for a crossing to the Bahamas.

The current/tidal flow is strong here though.

Tuesday in Fort Pierce.

We've moved back on the boat.  The fuel tanks are topped off and we're ready to go.  It's going to still be blowing pretty decent the next few days, but Friday or Saturday look like days to cross to the Bahamas.  Thus, we're going to start heading south tomorrow to get set for the cross.  Today was lazy day.  A few chores got done, but there was also some pool time (it is our vacation after all!).  We'll put the truck in storage tomorrow and catch a ride back with Dave who runs the storage place (he gives us a ride every year, as well as local boating tips).  As for pictures, here's an adult manatee that was grazing behind our boat this afternoon (the largest manatee I've ever seen).
